"The journey to success is not a straight line.  We will have to make tough decisions, and we will be expected to be able to pivot in order to move forward.  "

Ron Johnson is a New York based business consultant, curating entrepreneurial experiences for small businesses and creators through retreats, webinars, masterclasses, and workshops.  Currently serving as the Entrepreneur-In-Residence for Medgar Evers College, in Brooklyn, NY. Ron advises students and the surrounding community with growing their business concepts.

In addition to consulting, Ron is the creator of the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy (YEA!), which is composed of a “Shark Sessions” bootcamp and  a “Pop Up Academy” 13-week curriculum. In 2020, YEA! will expand into Compton, Los Angeles, California for summer and fall programming. His inspiration for youth entrepreneurship comes from the strength of Flint, Michigan youth who six years later are still fighting the long term effects of lead water poisoning.  In the last three years, Ron has run a marathon and 12 half marathons to raise awareness of the crisis.

Ron began his career in media sales at ABC, Time Inc, InteractiveOne and Yume Inc.  After graduating from the entrepreneurship program, Workshop In Business Opportunities (WIBO)  (www.WIBO.org), he launched his pop up concept, Mrs. Dorsey's Kitchen (MDK), a grilled cheese bar in Brooklyn New York. Mrs. Dorsey’s Kitchen was ranked Top Restaurant in Prospect Heights and ‘Top 100 Places to Eat and Brooklyn’ by Yelp! In December 2016, after closing his restaurant, Ron became the WIBO Program Director, where he designed and managed the 16 week program and curriculum development.

Currently, Ron is raising awareness of the Flint water crisis by running marathons and fundraising (www.gofundme.com/racingforflint) to build an entrepreneurial workshop for the Flint youth called, “Pop Up Academy.  ‘Flint needs more than water bottles.’

A University of Michigan Alum and Brooklyn resident, you can find Ron eating BBQ, running marathons, dancing to 90s music, and raising awareness for youth entrepreneurship programming in Flint, Michigan.
